MC&C makes key strategic appointments
Trust bolsters client offering, naming Chief Strategy Officer and Managing Partner
23rd October 2018
MC&C Media’s newly appointed CEO Robin Trust has named Genevieve Tompkins as the agency’s Chief Strategy Officer and Rob Watt as its Managing Partner in his first major announcement since taking the reins in September.
Genevieve, who was previously Managing Partner, will oversee the development of the agency’s growth agenda and the creation of a future facing agency model. She will also continue to work closely with the wider agency teams to enhance MC&C’s strategic capabilities for clients.
Meanwhile Genevieve will maintain a close relationship with the agency’s clients on a day-to-day basis.
Rob, who joined as Managing Director of MC&C International in 2017, has also been appointed to the position of Managing Partner of MC&C in a move that will see his role expand to include agency product development including overseeing its digital capabilities.
The promotions signal the beginning of a new era for MC&C under Robin’s leadership following founder Mike Colling’s decision to step back from the day-to-day running of the agency.
Genevieve and Rob play a critical role in the running of the independent agency, which is entering a key development phase as it looks to apply its long-standing expertise in driving business outcomes to a broader range of client challenges.
Robin Trust, CEO of MC&C Media, said: “Both Gen and Rob are integral to the agency and to the successful management of our client relationships. They have also been central to our new business success this year and I am pleased to both formalise and publicly recognise their invaluable contributions to the business.”
Rob will continue to head up MC&C’s international offering, overseeing clients including UNICEF, David Lloyd Leisure and Lovehoney in overseas markets but will now play a wider role in the key domestic operations of the agency.
